Termination Notice Review

A structured first review of a written termination in Germany, the timeline around it, and the questions that need prompt attention.

Who this review is for

This consultation is for an employee who has received a written Kündigung and needs to organise the situation quickly. It is most useful when you can provide the termination letter, employment contract, recent amendments, and the date the letter reached you.

What we examine

We read the notice alongside the contractual notice period, proposed final working day, any garden leave communication, outstanding holiday, variable compensation, and reference arrangements. We also identify facts that may affect the appropriate next professional step, such as works council involvement, protected status, or a proposed settlement.

The review does not include court representation, filing a Kündigungsschutzklage, contacting your employer, or issuing a formal legal opinion. Where your situation requires a Rechtsanwalt, we say so clearly.

Your 75-minute session

  1. Timeline first. We establish delivery, notice, response, and proposed end dates.
  2. Document review. We work through the termination and relevant contract clauses in plain English.
  3. Decision map. We separate urgent actions from points that can be prepared for discussion.
  4. Written recap. Within one business day, you receive a concise summary of questions and next steps.

Before the call

Send legible copies of the termination notice and employment contract at least four working hours before the appointment. Remove bank details, tax identifiers, health information, and unrelated personal records. Write down the exact date and method by which the notice was delivered.

Important timing

In Germany, challenging a termination commonly involves a three-week period from receipt. The calculation and legal application can depend on the circumstances. If that period may be running, do not wait for a consultation slot: seek advice from a qualified German employment lawyer immediately.

The next step

Use the enquiry form with the date received and your preferred appointment window. We confirm fit and availability before any fee is due.
